Professional Affiliations
Ann is currently working as a clinical social worker for Scott City Area Mental Health Center. She received her bachelors in social work at Kansas State University and masters in social work at the University of Denver, then went on to obtain clinical level licensure.
NARMH Positions
Ann has been a NARMH member since 2002 and was elected to the board in 2004. She currently serves as board secretary as well as conference chair for the 2007 NARMH conference to be held in Kansas City. She is also serving on a SAMHSA committee working to develop a National Rural Behavioral Health Plan.
Rural Mental Health Involvement and Contributions
Ann lives in a frontier region of Western Kansas with her farmer/rancher husband and three children. She is a clinical social worker with over 14 years of experience providing mental health services in the public sector. She has worked in a wide variety of settings working with the culturally and economically diverse population of the agriculturally based rural and frontier communities of Western Kansas. Her experience includes providing school social work services, home health services, outpatient mental health services, director of Family Based Services for Southwest Kansas/Foster Care Privatization Contract, director of a local area inpatient psychiatric unit, and she also worked as a behavioral health provider to successfully integrate mental health into a primary medical care setting in Western Kansas. Ann is committed to being instrumental to improving behavioral health care in rural and frontier areas.
