Anthony Pollitt, Ph.D.
Professional Affiliations
Anthony was formerly Chief, Office of Rural Mental Health Research,
and Chief, Office of Policy Analysis, NIMH. He has over 30 years
experience in health and mental health services research--with a special
focus on how we can more effectively organize, finance, and deliver care to
underserved rural and frontier populations as well as special populations
within these communities.
NARMH Positions and Projects
Anthony has been a member of NARMH since 1995 and was the recipient
of the Going To Bat Award. He was instrumental in developing a model of
mentoring Jr. Investigators who plan to submit grant applications to various
public and private agencies. Anthony also advised NARMH members in
obtaining a five-year conference grant from NIMH.
Rural Mental Health Involvement and Contributions
Anthony lives in Washington, DC and Naples, Florida. He
consults on various health and mental health research and services projects
in SW Florida. He is presently assisting underserved families who have
children with severe mental and general medical health problems.
