State of New Mexico Human Services Department - Behavioral Health Services Division

Rural and Community Psychiatry Network of New Mexico

The Rural & Community Psychiatry Network of New Mexico (RCPNNM) is comprised of 60+ community and rural psychiatrists from around the state.  The RCPNNM is open to anyone wanting to engage in open and honest discussions and networking regarding New Mexico’s unique community and rural psychiatric challenges and opportunities.  Key topics areas and issues that the RCPNNM has identified are 1) Advocacy for individuals served by rural and community psychiatrists; 2) Opportunities to share information and network in a non-clinical atmosphere; 3) Mutual assistance in problem-solving administrative issues; 4) Linking rural and community psychiatrists to resources outside of their practice area(s); and 5) Serving as a resource for other physicians and primary care providers.

University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center – Dept. of Family & Community Medicine - Transdisciplinary Evaluation and Support Clinic

The Transdisciplinary Evaluation and Support Clinic (TEASC), funded by the New Mexico Department of Health/Developmental Disabilities Supports Division, is a consultation team that includes family practice providers, psychiatrists, experts in social services and health care systems, and a clinical social worker. The team may include other specialists such as a neurologist or sign language interpreter. TEASC offers in-home and clinic-based consultation to adults who have intellectual/developmental disabilities and complex medical, mental health, and support system needs. TEASC assistance does not replace the direct care provided by the client’s primary care doctor, psychiatrist, therapist, interdisciplinary team, or other care givers.

University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center - Center for Telehealth

The Center for Telehealth is the coordinator and facilitator for the integration of Telehealth programs at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center and other state partners. The Center for Telehealth is available to help programs interested in integrating Telehealth into their initiatives, provides technical, network, business, and operational planning and design and connects providers, patients, administrators, across the state, across the nation and across the world. There are 100 sites in NM connected involving several health care provider organizations.
