NARMH Publications

The National Association for Rural Mental Health over the years has produced several publications that serve as a reference point for the field of rural mental health. The special issues publications below are examples of these efforts.

  • Journal of Rural Mental Health (JRMH) is the scholarly journal of the National Association of Rural Mental Health.. The mission of the JRMH is to provide an archival peer-reviewed publication that includes papers pertaining to rural mental health research, practice, and policy. Submissions may take a number of forms such as reports of original research, theoretical or review articles, program descriptions, first-person articles by consumer/survivors, book and media reviews, creative efforts, and letters to the editor.   • Rural and Frontier Mental and Behavioral Health Care (pdf) – Barriers, Effective Policy Strategies, Best Practices – In this report, findings of current status of rural and frontier mental and behavioral health including barriers to service, model programs, policy strategies, role of telehealth and State Offices of Rural Health.
